I love The Awkward Yeti cartoons! The storylines are realistic, witty and compassionate and the cartoon characters are our bodily organs. Their dialogues are so relatable! 😊
Change of any sort can be challenging! 😥 (especially to the Brain!)
It is true that habits are cognitively efficient because they automate common behaviours and freeing up brain energy for other tasks! (Gardner, B., et al, 2012)... and "all psychological resistance is built on a fear of change where the outcome could result in a worse situation" (Forsell, L.M., & Aström, J. A., 2012). 🫣
So how can we get started on finding motivation to make healthy changes??
As our behaviour is linked with our sense of self, finding ways to think about goals that make our connection to our own core values and sense of self could help motivate ourselves! It may also be more accessible and long-lasting plan for boosting motivation (Gardner, B. Et al, 2012). 😃
(personally i find that a little treat for effort is occasionally beneficial! 🤫 )
